To measure your wrist for a bracelet, wrap a flexible measuring tape once around the place you want to wear it. Keep the tape close to your skin without pulling it tight. Record where the end meets the scale, including whether the reading is in inches or centimeters.
That number is your wrist circumference. It is the starting measurement, not automatically the length of a finished beaded bracelet.
Measure with a soft tape
- Remove your watch or other bracelets from the wrist you are measuring.
- Wrap the tape around the place where you want the bracelet to sit. Keep it flat, with no twists.
- Bring the tape into contact with your skin without digging in. Do not leave an extra gap while taking the measurement.
- Read the number where the end overlaps the scale. Note the unit.
- Remove the tape and measure again in the same place. If the readings differ, check that the tape has not slipped or tightened.
Measure the wrist that will wear the bracelet. Keep the original reading separate from any fit adjustment requested by a particular maker.
No soft tape? Use a paper strip
Wrap a narrow strip of paper around your wrist in the same way. Mark the point where the end meets the strip. Lay it flat beside a ruler and measure from the starting end to your mark.
Use a strip that sits flat without folding. If you use cord instead, choose one that does not stretch and avoid pulling it tight. Repeat the measurement before relying on the result.
Convert inches to centimeters
One inch equals 2.54 centimeters. Multiply inches by 2.54 to convert to centimeters; divide centimeters by 2.54 to convert to inches.

These are unit conversions, not bracelet-size recommendations. They do not include extra room or establish which finished size you should order.
Wrist size, bead size, and bracelet length are different
Your wrist measurement describes your body. Bead diameter describes the size of an individual bead. The inner space of the completed bracelet determines how it sits around your wrist.
A bracelet’s length along the cord is not the same as its usable inner circumference. Bead shape, diameter, and other components affect that relationship. A size rule for a flat chain or a different bracelet construction may not suit a beaded design.
Choose the bead scale you enjoy, then review the fit information for that design. Do not assume that a particular bead count or a universal extra half-inch will work for every arrangement.
Use your measurement in Crystal DIY Lab Studio
In Studio, open Wrist, choose cm or in, and enter Your measured wrist circumference. Select Apply wrist size. Use your snug measurement without adding extra room. For example, 6.5 in equals 16.51 cm; Studio displays this as 16.5 cm.
Studio estimates wrist fit from the selected beads and their sizes. Within target range means the estimate is between your wrist measurement and 0.8 cm above it. This guides your comparison; it does not guarantee comfort. Changing materials or sizes can change the estimate.
Estimated wrist fit and Strand length describe different measurements. The first estimates the wrist circumference the design can accommodate; the second follows the thread through the beads. Set your wrist size before using the fit comparison. A design without your measurement cannot be confirmed to fit you.

Measuring for a gift
When possible, ask the recipient to measure the wrist where they will wear the bracelet. A clothing size, photograph, or another person’s wrist measurement is not a reliable substitute.
If you are comparing a bracelet they already own, identify its construction and the measurement you have taken. A flat chain length and the inner circumference of a beaded bracelet are different references. Contact us before ordering if the recipient’s measurement is uncertain.
